Guide to Wales's hills & mountains

Clawdd Mawr photo

Clawdd Mawr earthwork

A ditch and bank earthwork across the upper part of this hill. Little is known about its history, except that it is believed to have been built during the early medieval period ('The Dark Ages'), and as so often, is taken to be some sort of defensive embankment.
