Sidhean na Raplaich photo

Sìthean na Raplaich

Deer just below the summit of Sìthean na Raplaich. Sìthean na Raplaich is the highest of the Tertiary basalt hills of Morvern and is mostly a large moorland plateau. The northern side of the range has a succession of spectacular vegetated crags. The summit is a typical trap hill (trap as in step) with the highest part being made of a coarse grained basalt that is more resistant to erosion. Being almost surrounded by the sea, Sìthean na Raplaich is a very good viewpoint.
